SENLIN | FOREST HILL
Senlin—meaning "forest"—is a thoughtfully crafted, single-story residence nestled in the heart of Forest Hill, designed to perfectly suit a young family of four. This home is a harmonious blend of modern convenience and timeless design, offering a warm and inviting environment for family life.
The meticulously planned layout centres around a spacious, light-filled living area, which seamlessly integrates with a dedicated study space for the children. This study area is cleverly positioned to be easily monitored from the kitchen and living spaces, allowing parents to keep an eye on their kids while going about their daily routines. A large double corner sliding door connects the interior to the rear alfresco and a generous backyard, fostering a seamless indoor-outdoor lifestyle.
As you move toward the rear of the home, the hallway opens into an expansive open-plan living and kitchen area, designed for both functionality and family connection. At the heart of the kitchen is a striking white marble island bench, crafted to be deeper and wider for ample workspace and a casual dining area. The waterfall edge adds a sleek, modern touch. Extensive cabinetry and a spacious walk-in pantry provide generous storage, catering to the practical needs of a busy family.
The living area, tucked at the back of the house, enjoys abundant natural light thanks to large windows and a corner sliding door. This design creates a seamless transition between the indoor space and the outdoor alfresco area, making it perfect for family gatherings and relaxation.
The Senlin project features four generously sized bedrooms, each equipped with a spacious walk-in robe. The master bedroom, the largest of the four, boasts a highly efficient layout, providing easy access to a deep walk-in robe with shelving and cabinetry on all sides. An elegant ensuite, seamlessly integrated into the bedroom without the use of doors, enhances the sense of openness and luxury, while maintaining privacy and ensuring proper waterproofing.
Positioned opposite the entrance, the bed is flanked by tall sidelights on either side, allowing natural sunlight to flood the space. The wall across from the bed offers a versatile area, ideal for accommodating dressers, drawers, or a wall-mounted television, making the room both functional and refined.
A cozy lounge located at the front of the home offers an inviting space for entertaining guests, who are welcomed by a striking large timber entry door. This versatile lounge is designed for adaptability, making it suitable as a children’s play area, a home office, or a comfortable retreat for guests. A corner window not only enhances the room’s modern aesthetic but also provides a sense of connection to the outdoors, offering both natural light and a view of the surrounding area, adding to the home’s contemporary façade.
The overall design aesthetic aims to create a subtle yet high-quality contemporary façade. The exterior draws inspiration from the area's post-war architecture, incorporating elements such as concrete tile roofing and red brickwork. These traditional materials are juxtaposed with modern accents, including sleek timber doors, dark grey expansive windows, and light-coloured renders, creating a sophisticated contrast that anchors the home in both the past and present.
